To mis-quote Oscar Wilde, “To lose one bridge may be regarded as a misfortune; to lose both looks like carelessness”. But this happened to bridge 82, near Glaisdale. The story is told in nine photos taken for the LNER Engineer's Department, and ending with the completed bridge, the third on the site and still there, being completed in 1932 and with a very substantial central pier. They weren't going to risk another wash away. (Oscar didn't address that possibility).
