Festiniog Railway "Blanche" in front of the Britannia Foundry, Porthmadog
Blanche was built by Hunslet of Leeds in 1893 as an 0-4-0ST and ran on the Penrhyn Quarry railway. Purchased by the Festiniog Railway in 1963, and rebuilt as a 2-4-0ST+T in 1972. Given this is taken from on deck, it must be when Ian Moss had a trip on the Tom Puddings, which was in the mid '80's and in their last few weeks of operation in 1985. The brake van appears to be the 'Fly' in which passengers were carried in some discomfort on benches in the leading compartment.
