Lock 2 (Scotland Lock), Woodham. 1980's
It looks as though the cill is at the far end of the lock, so this is looking west. The towpath is on the left of the photo, so the south of the canal. That makes this Deepcut or Woodham flight. There is a lock numbering stone visible on the left hand wall, but it does not appear to have the number painted on it. There are pictures in the BCS Archives of Lock 2 which look very similar. The shape of the cement on the coping stone on the left entrance, the stonework on the right, the blue bricked bywash outflow, and the four courses of brick above the numbering stone all suggest Lock 2. The building to the right is a pump out building for houseboats, some of which might be just visible beyond the lock on the right hand side.Lock 2 (Scotland Lock), Woodham. 1980's
