'Clent' was a wooden motor boat built by Fellows Morton & Clayton at Uxbridge in 1947. In the background are the B&LJ Canal's lock-keeper's bungalow and the house built for the Staffordhire & Worcesteshire Canal. For a few years from 1841, the stop lock at Autherley Junction was taken out, the water levels equalised, and the water usage at Wheaton Aston monitored by S&WC staff.
