This section, about three quarters of a mile from Briggs Sidings on the eastern side of Dowlow Lime works, was abandoned in 1869 to bypass the Hurdlow incline. The piece of old rail in photographs 01-03 was found near here. SK 1136 6692

Peak Forest Tramroad, Chapel Milton Viaducts, with the tramway passing beneath. 3 April 1931
Skirting the northern slopes of Eccles Pike, the tramway passes under the LMSR viaducts at Chapel Milton. The viaduct in front carries the main Derby - Manchester line and the one behind is the loop line forming part of the triangular junction with the Edale and Sheffield branch.

The Stratford-on-Avon canal entered the town from the north west to terminate in a canal basin between the Memorial Theatre grounds and Bridge Foot. When this view was taken, stone sleeper blocks were still visible in the roadway, including on a siding into the timber yard. Baxter noted that new curb edgings for relaying the road were already on the site and very soon after this visit all traces were swept away and the hoarding taken down. The wharf behind the hoarding was converted into a garden, but the canal basin itself survives. Grid Reference: SP204549
