Grid Ref: SP 7437 4985 [GU-103-820]. An empty boat is tied above lock. The canal company warehouse has not not yet been opened as the Waterways Museum though it did later in the year. The building was a former steam powered corn mill built in about 1843, with a tall chimney where the museum café now is and a basin beyond it. A roving bridge for the basin was located about where the boat is moored. The canal company acquired the mill in 1903 and demolished the chimney in 1914, toppling it into the redundant basin.Top Lock & Stoke Bruerne. 1963

Trent & Mersey: Brindley Bank Aqueduct (between bridges 67 & 67A)
Four-arched structure built by James Brindley to carry the Trent and Mersey Canal over the river Trent at Brindley Bank, near Rugeley, Staffordshire. It was constructed by first building half the structure on dry land and then excavating a channel to divert the river under the new structure. This enabled the other half to be built on dry land and when complete the river was let go so that it could flow along both its natural and man-made channels.Trent & Mersey: Brindley Bank Aqueduct (between bridges 67 & 67A)

This is the original 1817 pump house plus 1838 extension built to accommodate steam powered beam engines. It was lowered and rebuilt in 1927 when the station went over completely to diesel power.
