Wagon body: 71" long x 52" wide. Gauge 3' 7". Wheelbase 2' 10". Wheels 20" diameter. Measured in 1954 by Bertram Baxter and R Abbott during a Newcomen Society visit.The carriage is now in the Royal Cornwall Museum. It is a passenger vehicle, and is generally accepted as the oldest original railway passenger carriage in the world. It probably dates from the earliest years of the tramroad and has been restored with a PRISM (Preservation of Industrial and Scientific Material) grant.

Photographed in May 1954 at the Holman Museum, Camborne.The carriage is now in the Royal Cornwall Museum. It is a passenger vehicle, and is generally accepted as the oldest original railway passenger carriage in the world. It probably dates from the earliest years of the tramroad and has been restored with a PRISM (Preservation of Industrial and Scientific Material) grant.
