Surbiton Station (BML1 @ 12m 03ch).. Exterior of station before rebuilding. circa 1930s (Ref: 030424)
The original station was opened in 1838 but this building was not completed until 1867. It was demolished in 1937 to make way for the new station. Note the trolleybus wires at the top of the image. London United Tramways introduced trolleybuses to replace the trams serving Surbiton Station in 1931. Evidence of the tram tracks can still be seen in the roadway.
