Monks Lane Halt - Looking South 1948. (SCU1 @ 23m 35ch) (Ref: 030280)
Opened by the LBSCR in 1907 to be served by push-pull railmotors but the traffic did not materialise. It was closed to passengers in 1939 although services stopped here during war time to serve a nearby military camp. This photo dates from 1948 and shows the station looking intact apart from missing letters from the nameboard.
