Lautoka Mill is the largest on Fiji and the railway system was ,most extensive, being more than 200km fom Kavanagasu in the south west of the main island of Viti Levu to Tavua in the north. In 1967season 1.4 mllion tons of cane were dekivered to Lautoka Mill. Between 1914 -1973 There was a free train passenger service between Sigatoka , Lautoka & Ba. Tuesdays & Thursdays departing Lautoka for Ba and the return Ba to Sigatoka on Mondays & Fridays.
