South Pacific sugar mills, steam locomotive Lautoka no 19 "Kanaka". Built Hudswell Clarke, 0-4-0ST, no 1056 in 1914. Purchased in 1914 for shunting between the wharf and mill at Lautoka. Withdrawn in 1960 it was plinthed by lautoka mill entrance and in the 1980s moved to Churchill Park, Lautoka. Notice on engine reads"SPSM Lautoka Mill, Trafic Department, 1914-1961 "Kanaka"in 47 years of service hauled {Paint peeling off and unreadable]. Continuous service in second world war discharging army supplies". In background lorries are arriveing wih loads of sugar cane. View of left hand side.
