Class 16/1 Diesel electric locomotives 10000 & 10001 (Ref: 010698)
Built in association with English Electric by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway at its Derby Works in 1947/8, with an English Electric 1,600 hp diesel engine, generator and electrics. The two locomotives often worked in tandem and are pictured here hauling the 'Royal Scot' over the up water troughs at Hest Bank (CGJ7 @ 2m 51ch)
