Highland Railway Duke of Sutherland's Saloon No. 57A - interior (Ref: 011256)
The saloon was built at Wolverton to the design of J.C Park for the Duke of Sunderland in 1899. This was the last privately owned passenger vehicle to run on a British railway before privatisation. This photo shows one of the two sleeping compartments. Note the 'D of S' on the blanket
