The Furness Railway ran from Carnforth, where it had junctions with the London & North Western Railway, and Midland & Furness Joint Railway, to Whitehaven where again joined the LNWR. It also had an extensive network of lines around Barrow-in-Furness, and branches to Hincaster Jn on the West Coast Main Line south of Oxenholme, Lakeside [Windermere], Conishead Priory and Glaxo Sidings, Rampside, Coniston, and Cockermouth.
