Steam rail motor car of the Cardiff Railway which inaugurated a passenger train service between Cardiff and Rhydyfelin in 1911. The photograph was taken at Whitchurch Station and includes Mr. Davies (station master), Mr. Hart, Mr Ree (Engineer), Mr Stuart, Mr Allen (Constructor of line), Mr. Holloway (supt.), Mr Harris (Solicitor), Mr Wilcox (inspector), Mr Dennis (General Manager), Lord Bute and Lord Merthyr. The occasion could be the inaugral run of the vehicle on February 27 1911.
