The canal runs from Kings Norton Junction (with the Worcester and Birmingham Canal), for 25½m to Stratford-upon-Avon where it connects into the River Avon Navigation.
There is also a ⅛m branch to the Warwick & Birmingham Canal at Kingswood Junction, which is considered as the boundary between the Upper Stratford and Lower Stratford sections of the canal.
