Exeter Maritime Museum. Former Bridgwater Docks drag-boat (1975)
The boat moved the deposited mud by acting like a underwater bulldozer. It was not self-propelled but pulled itself across the basin. Its history is uncertain but it is likely to have been built for Bristol Docks in 1834 and misattributed to Brunel. The boat moved to Exeter in 1970. The museum closed in 1997, and the boat went to Eyemouth (Scotland). It is currently in store near Bristol, awaiting restoration.
