Wern - overflow weir providing water to the corn mill (1961)
The Montgomeryshire Canal was a 'sump' canal, with locks ascending both sides from the lowest level, which was at Wern. Any boat using the canal had to 'waste' two lockfuls of water, and in the second half of the 19th century was built to make use of this water. (25 March 1961)
