Pontcysyllte Aqueduct can be seen in the distance. About 1865 a 2ft 6in gauge tramroad was constructed from Penybont Brick & Tile Works to a wharf which was in the centre of this photograph. It was lifted some time between 1900 and 1910. (15 March 1959)
