Coalport - Hay Inclined Plane (1879)
Located at the end of the Shropshire Canal, the inclined plane was a dual-track plateway, used to lower canal tub-boats 207 feet (63 m) to a short canal, from where loads could be transferred from the tubs to trows on the River Severn. Its last known use was in 1872, and definitely not used after 1894. It was officially abandoned in 1907.
