Notes on the slide say 'Oxford. Site of Lock - Upper'. However no record can be found of former locks near Oxford other than the flash lock at Hythe Bridge and this is not it. Possibly the site of the lock on the Swift Ditch in Abingdon, built in 1624. Grid Ref: SU 5138 9664 [TR-063-620]
