Grid Ref: SJ 9348 9843 [AN-010-960]. Usually considered the junction with the Peak Forest Canal but that canal actually started 70m to the south on the other side of the Tame Aqueduct at the bend in a 240m long arm of the Ashton serving a number of iron foundries.
