Looking south east towards the main line from the site of the terminal basin at the end of the short Holme (or Vavasour's) Canal that joined at Holme Ings Lock. Grid Ref: SE 8460 3990 [MW-015-170]. The goose in the foreground would have been standing on the wharf whereas those at the far end would have been in the basin.
