Canal Head' August 1970
This is the head of the 1km long Holme (or Vavasour's) Canal that left the main line at Holme Ings Lock. The white building is the former Star Inn, now Stray Farmhouse, Grid Ref: SE 8460 3990 [MW-015-170] and the building in front, now replaced by a farm building, is presumably the warehouse on the wharf at the end of the branch.
