Including the River Hull, Beverley Beck, Leven Canal, Aike Beck, West Beck, Frodingham Beck, and Driffield Canal. The Driffield Navigation is an 11 mile (18 km) waterway, through the heart of the Holderness Plain in the East Riding of Yorkshire. The southern section is part of the River Hull. and the northern section is a canal. Construction was authorised in 1767, and it was fully open in 1770. It remained profitable well into the 20th century, but the last commercial traffic was in 1951. It Is now (2023) managed by the Driffield Navigation Trust, and is being restored to a fully navigable condition.
The Leven Canal runs for nearly 3¼ miles from the River Hull to the village of Leven. It was built for Mrs Charlotta Bethell in 1805, and remained in use until 1935. It is now a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
