Barnsley (or Old Mill) Basin
Grid Ref: SE 3497 0705 [BAc-019-670]. The canal used to continue to the immediate left of the row of houses but the bridge under Old Mill Street on which they sit has been filled in. By 1971, the basin had been filled in and was in use as a car park and, by the early 1980's, a crinkly tin shed DIY warehouse had been built on the site.
