Mountsorrel Lock with crane boat
Lock 50. Sileby Road over the bridge (No.24) in the background from Mountsorrel to the left to the new A6 dual carriageway and then Sileby to right. The lock house at Mountsorrel was demolished about 1967 but the taller house behind it in 45822 survives. On the towing path side not shown in the pictures was the Duke of York pub that became the Waterside Inn in about the mid/late 60s. Grid Ref: SK 5819 1524 [SO-017-120]
