The Paddington Canal or Paddington Arm of the Grand Union Canal is a broad canal and runs 13½ miles from from Bull's Bridge Junction in Hayes (where it joins the Grand Union Canal (Grand Junction Canal - Main Line)) to Paddington Basin and Wharves. Welsh Harp Reservoir. 1981
Although built by the Regents Canal, the feeder from the reservoir entered the Paddington Arm at Harlesden just west of Acton Lane. Grid Ref: TQ 2051 8324 [GP-015-380]. The picture was taken from Cool Oak Lane Bridge and is of Welsh Harp Sailing Centre that was on the northern arm of the reservoir. It also catered for canoe training. Most of the children are in stable touring boats but one lad has tried a far less stable racing kayak and paid the price.Welsh Harp Reservoir. 1981
